The city of Sparks and NV Energy today are celebrating completion of a solar power project expected to reduce the city’s annual electric costs by as much as $60,000, officials said.

As part of its Sustainability Action Plan, the city has installed 300-kilowatts of solar power (photovoltaic panels) in the parking lot of the Sparks Police Department to generate energy and reduce the City’s electricity costs.  (Read more)
